I was delighted when I was invited to attend 'The Pianist' this evening. That was an absolutely incredible experience that featured two very talented pianists. The evening started of with a performance by Kenya's very own Dan Abissi. This gentleman is absolutely gifted . He performed 2 very uplifting pieces and I must say they blew me mind away. He has had only 2 years experience in Piano most of which he spent learning the piano in theory. I swear to God I want skills like his!
Then came Janusz Olejniczak . He is polish by decent and performed 5 different pieces. i noticed he had a thing for really menacing (in a good way) compositions. One minute you'd be drifting in Euphoria and the next you'd be jerked back into reality! He was brilliant. quite frankly I think I wouldn't mind listening to classical music more often.
Check out a few pictures of the event ...

For those of you who have watched 'The Pianist' , you might actually have already seen Janusz Olejniczak at work. He played the "hands" in the movie.

And then after the performance, I wandered off into the exhibtion area to look at some potraits . The theme was quite interesting actually. It was about alter egos. You know, like the other side of your personality..the one that everyday people hardly get to see. I think my alter ego would be a "heister" ..if that means anything.
