MASKS

So lately i have been having a serious fascination for masks.to be more particular i am in LOOOOVE,in Loove am in freaking love with venetian masks.Masquereade(why did they make it so hard to spell this word?Jeez like we need a spelling bee challenge!damn this english language)...anywho some masQ masks seem a little bit out of my personal taste but thank God for lace!!!

then there are those featured in the Valentino Couture show for fall09 that i completely adored.Thank God front row seats at these shows are reserved for the usually well mannered fashion heavyweights..if i sat front row at this particular show I would have personally yanked one of the models off the  runway and stripped her of this masks.Only problem is am not quite good with exit strategies....

aside from lace,i have found some pretty good one made out of "faux" metal(READ plastic) as i was web crawling..

then there were these i saw on lady gaga.complete with pearls..I DIED!

now i want a mask!!

You are in the middle of the city (not some nondescript village(READ remote area) in the middle of nowhere where google earth or GPS can't even trace) , the most recurrent item of clothing you are gonna see is pants..Black pants ,blue pants,red jeans,white capris...you get my drift right?

so anyways,a few designers out there have decided to break the glass and do things a little differently ,case in point this Sylvia Owori piece modelled by supermodel Ajuma Nasenyana during the Arise Africa Fashion Week..res ipsa loquitur

Don't you just love those interesting galactic like ruffles on the pants?..I tell you what,you wear those for an hour and if the paps don't swoon over you then ..then i don't know what the heck they are there for!

Will definately post more on interesting trouser designs..keep your eyes open.

hairy affairs

so of late i have been overly fascinated by *drumroll* ...HAIR!For the sake of clarity,am refering to the hair that grows on your head..the one thats at least 5" long ..get my drift?

so back to the hair story ..you can braid it: make a sort of couture hat.hehe

you can wear it:like this Charlie le mindu.Take note of the lip hair thing on her head and the skirt...

there is only one problem ...what happens when it suddenly starts raining cats and dogs(pun intended)?well ,for starters you are gonna smell real bad,look like a wet puppy but on the bright side..this piece is exquisite.

you can also wear it with weird accessories .case in point these glasses..

or where it like a bolero...

however you want to wear your hair ...rock it out.xx

haider ackerman fall 2010

Haider ackerman has demonstrated an amazing workmanship when it comes to leather.Just saw his fall 2010 collection and i looovee his work!

the mix of leather and lace both of which are still the rage right now is genius! plus i love all the cuts and the twists going on in leather..

I have to admit I would wear this number as an overlay...unless I am being paid a hefty amount of money to cater for the cost of treatment of the wounds and bruises I would acquire while walking down the street....damn this morality freaks!lol.

Fashion finds!

I just discovered Iris van Herpen!Eureka!

She's Dutch and is one of the most talented avant garde fashion designer I have truly fallen in love with.She has worked with,get this,Alexander Mcqueen and Victor and Rolf!I just saw her "mummification" collection and boy wasn't i wowed!Her craftmanship or should I say her craftwomanship on leather almost rivals Jean Claude Jitrois!

Her other collection like synthesia are equally breathtaking but this(mummufication) completely takes my breathe away!

gareth pugh!OMG!

i have no idea where i've been all along..i mean why haven't i ever heard of gareth pugh before?lawd!if i had died before today i think i would have totally short lived my goals...to see the bestest of avant garde fashion ever(after mcqueen of course!).i love this guy's work!where has he been? rather where have i been?

the left one has those victorian ruffs that have made go gaga for the last couple days...i would love to know how to make them! i've been googling around and everything i find is lengthy and complicated but i guess i'll have to learn all  the same.
 the right one is an armoured style dress thingy.
